We are a company made up of a team of people specialized in : communication, marketing, informatics, business and food sector.
Our primary activity is the carrying out of specific programmes aimed at the international promotion of the resources and the activities of Italian territory.
We study and realise specific projects that will connect the service and product provider with the potential buyers.
Our web site is a site that does not hide its nature and its aims. There are too many web sites that hide behind a mask. They often do good, great things, and are rich in information. We prefer telling you straight away what we are.
The Madia head office is in the center of Italy. It is near three National Parks and next to the Maiella National Park. Our mission is “naturalness”.
We select typical food products - olive oil, wine, salami, pasta, cheeses, preserves according to standards of genuineness and high quality, and sell them by valorizing their traditional historical and cultural roots.
We keep contact only with those producers and farmers who can assure us that their products are OGM free (none genetically modified) and are of the highest quality.
To make sure that we have selected the best producers, we visit their farms. Many of our producers have only small farms, but this is often the reason why the quality standard is so high.
No one expects a supermarket manager to know all about the products it stocks, just as no one imagines a small food producer to be an expert in customer care and services. The Madia, however, can embrace both these crucial aspects.
When does a food product become a typical product for us?

We adopt these standards:

Quality ingredients

We keep contact only with those producers and farmers who can assure us that their products are OGM free (Genetically Modified Organisms) and are of the highest quality.
To make sure that we have selected the best producers, we visit their farms.

Particular methods of preparation

A long working-out that has tried to obtain the best result from what could be available in a particular place, by improving, fitting and evolving traditional experiences and the manufacturing techniques. Preserves are anxiety in its purest form, an attempt to stop the clock of History, by giving it a flavour. Preparing preserves is akin to seeking immortality: it's not just about put the food in a can, but also about projecting our fear of death.
Our path is the complete opposite to that of the Food Industry, which conceals and degrades authentic produce by appropriating their traditional names, without respecting established production methods.

Specific geographical location

A product is typical as long as it is an expression of a delimited geographical area. The typical product has the fundamental characteristic of being linked to their area of origin in a more or less strong way so that it becomes an expression of the area's material richness (particular climate, raw materials, pastures, etc.) and of its historical and cultural richness.
A good percentage of the products selected by The Madia come from the most rural and disadvantaged areas of Italy. Particular breeds, varieties of vegetable and legume, cured meats, cheeses and types of honey often owe their outstanding characteristics to the isolation, and the less than hospitable climates and soils where they are reared, grown or produced. The location of these areas is often in stark contrast with the exigencies of the modern food industry, which often penalizes agriculture in inaccessibly mountainous and hilly areas – areas that are already weakened by productive and occupational impoverishment. The Madia promotes producers who might well otherwise be forced to close by the Food Industry. For The Madia, safeguarding these areas is a primary goal.

An appropriate scale of production

Many of our producers have only small farms, but this is often the reason why the quality standard is so high.
